Please note: 

  1. The e-mail addresses of your opponent/s should be in the above mailing list. The date scheduled for these games in Round 1 is set of Monday December 5th. If you are unavailable to play your match on this date, please arrange with your opponent to play on an alternative Monday, preferably before Christmas – our last Club night before Christmas will be Monday December 19th. Games can be played as an emergency during the start of January 2023 but this would have to be agreed in advance with the competition organiser. 
  2. JUNIORS: if you are a Junior, please inform your opponent, and arrange to start your game at the earlier time of 7 pm (the club usually opens at 6.30 pm). 
  3. If you are having difficulty in arranging your game, please inform the competition organiser : agdawson@dundee.ac.uk 
  4. Any player can request a bye once during the first 4 rounds. If this happens the person with the bye will be awarded 0.5 points while his/her opponent shall be awarded 1.0 points. 
  5. Please always use a chess clock. The time control for all games will be 90 minutes for each player. Please also report your game result once finished and sign your scoresheet returning one copy and keeping one copy for yourself. 
  6. If a player defaults 2 games in the competition, he/she will be withdrawn from the tournament. 
  7. All players taking part in the competitions are required to have paid their membership fees to the Chess Club.
