The first night of the Club Championship, but despite a good turnout in numbers, only two pairings were actually possible!

In a nailbiting finish, Christine mated Max with just four seconds left on her clock! In the other game, Ed beat Laurenziu in a Grand Prix kingside attack.

Otherwise, a good club night with several prospective new members. David and Alan (Borwell) were impressed with a bright young man whose parents also seem interested in learning to play (aren’t we all?!)
