30/06/15:After a postponement, a key Round 4 match in this year’s Dundee Chess Club Championship will take place tonight between two of Dundee’s top players – Alan Borwell and David Findlay. Follow this site for the result and the game to be published in the ‘Games’ section.
16/06/15: Dundee Chess is honoured by the selection of two of its Junior players to play in this year’s Glorney Cup to be held in Ireland, 19-23, July, 2015. Declan Shafi has been selected as part of the Scotland team to play in the Premier U-18 Glorney Cup Championship. Euan Dawson has been selected to represent Scotland as part of the U-14 team for the Robinson Trophy. The Scotland teams will compete over 3 days against strong teams from England, Wales and Ireland. In recent years England are the favourites to pick up most of the top medals. But Scotland are determined to put in strong performances. In addition to the U-18, U-14 and U-12 tournaments, Scotland’s womens U-18 team will also compete for the Faber Cup. Good luck to Declan and Euan and safe travels.
